You can experience such a spectacle live, and we at All Season Lasówka invite you to discover this fascinating side of nature together.
What is the deer rut?
The rut is a period when male deer fight for the favor of a doe and the right to offspring. Wandering through our forests at this time, you have a chance to hear the deep, loud roars of males, and perhaps even see these majestic animals in action. These spectacular struggles are the essence of autumn life in the mountains, and watching them live is a real treat for nature lovers.
When to admire them?
The beginning usually falls in early September, so it is worth being vigilant not to miss it. After all, it takes place only once a year. However, in some regions you can come across majestic animals as early as the end of August. Nature is changeable, but during these periods the probability of experiencing the rut with your own eyes is very high.
The time of day also plays a big role. You will hear the deer best in the early morning, about an hour before sunrise. This guarantees not only an auditory experience, but also a visual one in the form of a beautiful sunrise on the horizon of mountains and forests.
Where to go for a deer rut?
The best place to listen to the deer rut in the Orlické Mountains are quiet, forest clearings and open spaces near valleys, where sounds are carried by the natural echo of the mountains. In the vicinity of Lasówka we will find unique slopes that will additionally enhance the acoustics. On the picturesque slopes there are All Season cottages, which will be an ideal observation point.
