Museums often provide a window into the past, showing us snippets of a community’s history and culture. However, not all museums focus exclusively on the adult past – there are also those that take us into the magical world of childhood. One such place is the fascinating Toy Museum, which is located in Kudowa-Zdrój.
The history of the Museum in a few sentences
The museum was opened in 2002 by Maria and Mirosław Ozierański, who created this place with the cultural heritage of toys in mind.
The owners are constantly looking for and acquiring new exhibits, renovating them and making them available for visitors to see.
It is the largest toy exhibition in Poland! A second museum was also opened in 2010 in Krynica-Zdrój.
Exhibits that bring memories to life
Upon entering the Toy Museum, one immediately feels the unique atmosphere of the place. The exhibits here are arranged in an elaborate choreography, telling the story of childhood through the prism of various toys.
In the museum you will see more than 5500 unique exhibits – old toys and objects related to childhood. The exhibition covers more than 400m2 and the toys on display come from 5 continents, even from ancient times!
What objects can you see in the Museum of Toys in Kudowa-Zdrój?
In the Museum you will see toys that are up to 2,000 years old, such as: blocks, dolls, vehicles, animal figures. sacred toys, trains, toys used in films, boy’s militaria, folk toys, teddy bears, game consoles, toys from archaeological excavations and much more.
And what else is waiting for you?
- Moving installations that allow you to travel back 100 years and admire steam engines in action, listen to music boxes and ships.
- An h0 scale railway mock-up, a miniature world built from h0 models.
- The original 1960s classroom, where you will sit through a whole 45 minutes going back to times gone by.

May-August: 9:00 to 18:00 hours
September: 10:00 to 18:00 hours
October-April: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
